Has Nicola Formichetti got too big for his boots?

So, dressing up a megastar for one of your jobs (Gaga) and presiding over a French fashion house (Mugler) the rest of your time is a big achievement for someone who has single-handedly worked his way up to the top of the fashion ladder with no help from family connections etc. We look at Nicola Formichetti and we think – We salute you! You demonstrate where hard work and determination can get you.
HOWEVER! Unless some sneaky journalists are misquoting the poor chap –he seems to be making some awfully queer statements. Exhibit A: he told W magazine that he found it impossible to style anyone too fat – ‘One shoot, which involved dressing a rock band, was particularly unfortunate. "I was only used to dressing models and skinny kids," he recalled. "And I turned up and it was, like, three fat guys. I just left. That was the last time I tried to work with fat people. I think one of them was Ali G's brother. It was so ghetto."
This, he did later apologise for – (perhaps his friend Beth Ditto threatened to sit on him? We would, if we were her)
NOW, apparently he is concerned about the number of ‘old people’ cluttering up the world of fashion. (Oh, what?) yes. OLD PEOPLE.
In Elle’s collections issue, the following pearl of wisdom falls from his gob – ‘I think old people should just be old and go away…It’s not about being in the industry for ten years anymore: it’s about good ideas.’
10 years? a) Grazia Daily have got socks that we’ve had longer than 10 years.
b) how long have YOU been in the industry, Nicola? If you started working at a trendy shop in London in ’98 or ‘99 before you went to DAZED,  . .  oh now wait . . . OH NO NICOLA!
